Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury on Sunday reaffirmed that the government will continue its strong crackdown on money launderers and those accused of looting public funds, stressing that there will be no compromise with offenders.

Responding to a supplementary question from independent MP Rumeen Farhana (Brahmanbaria-2) in Parliament, the minister said multiple cases have already been filed, while investigations are ongoing.

“Many cases have been lodged, investigations are continuing, and the process of seizing properties of several accused individuals is already underway,” he told the House.

Khosru emphasised that the government remains firm in its stance against those who siphoned off national wealth and moved it abroad.

“There will be no compromise with those who looted the country’s money and fled overseas. This drive will continue,” he said.

He added that Parliament has been regularly briefed on the legal and administrative measures taken so far, reiterating the government’s commitment to sustaining the ongoing campaign against money laundering and illicit wealth.
