Bangladesh’s gross foreign exchange reserves rose to US$36.58 billion, according to the latest data released by Bangladesh Bank (BB) on Sunday.

The central bank said the country’s gross foreign exchange reserves stood at US$36.58 billion, reflecting the latest reserve position.

Under the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) Balance of Payments and International Investment Position Manual, Sixth Edition (BPM6) methodology, Bangladesh’s usable foreign exchange reserves were estimated at US$31.94 billion.

Bangladesh Bank regularly publishes both the gross reserve figure and the IMF’s BPM6-compliant reserve data, with the latter providing a more internationally comparable measure of the country’s readily usable foreign exchange assets.
