A high-level Saudi delegation led by Saudi Deputy Minister for Transport and Logistic Services Dr. Rumaih Mohammed Al-Rumaih met Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at the Prime Minister’s Office in the Jatiya Sangsad complex on Wednesday.
The two sides discussed strengthening bilateral ties, investment, and cooperation in infrastructure development.
The delegation said Red Sea Gateway Terminal International is interested in investing $180 million to develop a bay terminal in Bangladesh and increasing its total investment in the country’s port sector to $1 billion.
It also expressed interest in investing in ports, railways, and other sectors.
Prime Minister Tarique highlighted his government’s investment-friendly policies and welcomed greater Saudi investment.
The delegation invited the prime minister to visit Saudi Arabia and said further discussions on potential projects would continue through joint meetings.
Senior government officials, including advisers and the BIDA chairman, attended the meeting alongside Saudi government officials and business representatives.
