The government has announced that no admission test will be held for Class I from the 2027 academic year. Instead, students will be admitted through a lottery system.
The decision was announced in a notification issued on Thursday, signed by Senior Information Officer Abdullah Shibli Sadiq.
According to the notification, the lottery-based system will apply only to Class I admissions beginning with the 2027 academic session.
Admissions to all other classes in primary and secondary schools will continue to be conducted through admission tests.
The notification also said that the 2026 Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examination results will be published on August 10, 2026.
