Students will now have the opportunity to have their public examination answer scripts reassessed, rather than merely rechecked, under a new system.

For the 2026 SSC and equivalent examination results, students and guardians can apply online for reassessment from August 11 to 17. They will not need to visit their schools or education boards.

To apply, applicants must visit the official reassessment portal, enter their roll and registration numbers, select their education board and submit the application. They will then have to provide a mobile phone number, which will be used to send the reassessment result by SMS.

Education Minister Dr ANM Ehsanul Haque Milan explained the new system at a press conference at the Secretariat on Monday (August 10).

He said the Public Examinations Act, 1988 had been amended to introduce the new provision. Under the revised system, answer scripts submitted for reassessment will be reviewed in full by a committee, and any errors in marking or calculation will be corrected.

Education Adviser to the Prime Minister Dr Mahdi Amin said the government had moved away from the previous practice of artificially increasing GPA or marks and had assessed students based on their actual merit, competence and skills.

He said the Prime Minister wanted an education system that would produce students with genuine knowledge, skills and creativity.

Dhaka Education Board Controller of Examinations Professor Jesmin Taslim Banu said applicants can select one or more subjects and pay a fee of Tk 150 for each paper. For subjects with two papers, applications must be submitted for both papers.

The fee can be paid through bKash, Nagad or Sonali Seba. After payment, applicants must return to the portal and click the ‘Submit’ button to complete the process.
