After a long wait, National University is set to hold its second convocation on January 23, 2027. Chancellor and President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has agreed to attend the event, according to the university and local media reports.
A delegation led by National University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr ASM Amanullah met the president at Bangabhaban on Sunday and formally invited him to attend the convocation as chancellor. He accepted the invitation and gave necessary directions for holding the event smoothly.
The university has started preparations following the president’s consent. Details, including the convocation speaker and eligibility for participation, will be announced at a press conference later.
National University, which provides higher education through around 2,500 affiliated colleges, held its first convocation on January 17, 2017—25 years after its establishment. The second convocation will take place about a decade later.
