The Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has strongly protested the exclusion of candidates selected for appointment as assistant teachers at government primary schools.
The party expressed concern after 351 candidates recommended for appointment in 15 districts were reportedly left out of the appointment orders issued on September 24.
Jamaat leaders demanded that the authorities clarify the reasons for excluding the selected candidates and take immediate steps to resolve the issue.
The Directorate of Primary Education (DPE) has said candidates could have been excluded for reasons including negative police verification reports, discrepancies in submitted documents and a lack of vacant posts in the relevant upazilas.
However, officials said they were not immediately aware of the specific cases.
A total of 14,384 candidates were initially selected for appointment as assistant teachers after the recruitment process, with district-wise lists published on February 8.
The issue has also caused concern among the selected candidates, who have been demanding appointment letters for months.
