The results of Bangladesh’s Primary Scholarship Examination will be officially announced on Sunday (July 12), the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education said.
Primary and Mass Education Adviser and Education Minister A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon will unveil the results at a press conference at 12:00 pm at the International Mother Language Institute in Dhaka.
The results were initially scheduled to be published on Thursday (July 9). However, the announcement was postponed after the results of nine districts under the Dhaka Division were mistakenly uploaded to a web portal before the official release.
According to the ministry, Assistant Maintenance Officer Md. Mehtab Kayes had been assigned to create the necessary links for uploading the results to the website and was instructed not to make them publicly accessible before the official announcement. However, the links became active on Thursday morning, allowing users to access and widely circulate the results on social media, triggering widespread criticism.
Following the incident, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education on Friday temporarily suspended the official responsible.
According to the Directorate of Primary Education, a total of 82,500 scholarships will be awarded this year based on merit and district- and upazila-level quotas.
Of the total, 66,000 scholarships will go to students of government primary schools, while 16,500 will be awarded to students from non-government primary schools.
