The 18th Annual Senate Meeting of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) was held on Thursday at the university’s Senate Hall, with Vice-Chancellor and Senate Chairman Major General Md Mahbub-ul Alam in the chair.
Addressing the meeting, the vice-chancellor said that although BUP is a relatively young university, its students, faculty members and researchers have consistently demonstrated excellence through their achievements at home and abroad.
He said members of the BUP community have been securing success in academic competitions, research, seminars, workshops and innovation programmes at both national and international levels, further strengthening the university’s reputation and credibility.
During the meeting, BUP Treasurer Air Commodore Md Reza Emdad Khan presented the revised budget of Tk 143.99 crore for the 2025-26 fiscal year and the proposed budget of Tk 149.34 crore for the 2026-27 fiscal year.
Senate members discussed the budget proposals before unanimously approving the proposed Tk 149.34 crore budget for the upcoming fiscal year.
The annual senate meeting was attended by members of parliament, secretaries from different ministries, senior officials of the Bangladesh Armed Forces and high-ranking officials of BUP.
