The gazette notification for 46 candidates excluded from the 49th Special BCS despite being recommended by the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) for the education cadre will be issued on Monday, Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed said on Thursday (October 1).
He made the announcement at a press briefing at his office in Dhaka.
The home minister said the PSC had declared 665 candidates successful, but eight failed to pass the medical examination, leaving 657 candidates.
“There has been no discrimination based on political identity,” he said, adding that the gazette notification was issued in several phases.
Salahuddin said one candidate who had threatened suicide was a member of a banned political party. He added that any allegations against candidates were investigated.
Regarding the 46 candidates who were left out, the minister said their gazette notification would be issued on Monday following the PSC’s recommendation.
