12kg LPG cylinder price rises by Tk70

The price of a 12kg liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder for household use has been increased by Tk70, with the new rate coming into effect from Sunday evening.

Following the hike, consumers will have to pay Tk1,598 for a 12kg LPG cylinder, up from the previous price of Tk1,528.

The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) announced the new price in a notice issued on Sunday.

According to the notice, the revised price applies to August 2026 and includes value-added tax (VAT) at the retail level.

The new price will be effective from 6:00pm on Sunday and will remain in force until further notice.
