Oil prices rise on reports of attack on Saudi Aramco facility

Global oil prices rose on Monday following reports that a Saudi Aramco oil facility in Jizan, near the Yemeni border, had come under attack.

Brent crude rose more than 1% to around $97 per barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) also climbed, as investors grew concerned about possible disruptions to oil supplies from the Middle East.

The attack comes amid escalating tensions in the region and growing disruptions to shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, a key route for global energy supplies. Damage to the Jizan facility is still being assessed.

Analysts warn that further attacks on oil infrastructure or shipping could push crude prices higher as markets factor in the risk of a broader supply shock.
