The government has ordered the strengthening of overall security measures at all power plants across Bangladesh, according to a directive from the Home Ministry.
The directive was issued following a decision taken at a meeting of the ministry’s “core committee” held on August 26, 2026, asking the authorities concerned to take necessary measures to enhance security at all power plants nationwide.
The Dhaka Metropolitan Police headquarters has also forwarded the Home Ministry’s instructions to relevant authorities, requesting them to take action accordingly.
The directive comes amid concerns over the security of critical power infrastructure.
The instructions were circulated to senior government officials and relevant police authorities for implementation.
The authorities have been asked to ensure comprehensive security at power plants in line with the core committee’s decision.
