Actor Emraan Hashmi is set to reprise one of the most iconic roles of his career as Shivam Pandit in Awarapan 2, nearly 19 years after the original film won a loyal fan following.
The makers unveiled the trailer on Wednesday, offering fans a first look at Shivam’s return and revealing how the character’s life has changed since the events of the 2007 film.
The sequel follows Shivam as a man still haunted by his tragic past and the loss of Aaliyah, played by Shriya Saran in the original. Carrying the emotional scars of his past, he embarks on a journey driven by revenge, redemption and a mission that refuses to let him rest.
The trailer opens with a dramatic sequence showing Shivam hanging from a pole in heavy rain with a metal rod piercing his chest. The tense moment is followed by the arrival of Shabana Azmi’s character, Nafisa, who confronts him with the chilling line, “What a beautiful face… are you so eager to meet death?”
Emraan Hashmi appears to slip effortlessly back into the role that became one of the defining performances of his career, while the sequel promises a darker, more intense chapter in Shivam Pandit’s story.
