Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay’s wife, Sangeetha, on Friday withdrew her divorce petition filed before a family court in Chengalpattu near here.
Sangeetha appeared before the court through video-conferencing when the petition came up for hearing and submitted her reasons for not pursuing the case.
The court subsequently disposed of the petition as withdrawn, according to official court sources.
Sangeetha had filed the divorce petition in February 2026. In it, she alleged that Vijay had been involved in an extramarital relationship with a female actor since 2021. She claimed that although she had confronted him and received assurances that the relationship would end, it allegedly continued.
The petition stated that the issue led to repeated arguments between the couple and caused emotional distress to her and their children.
Sangeetha, who comes from a Sri Lankan Tamil family based in London, married Vijay in August 1999. She has largely stayed away from the public spotlight but has often been seen supporting him at film events and family functions.
The couple have two children, Jason Sanjay and Divya Saasha.
