A €35,000 fraud complaint has been filed with Italian police in Rome against popular Bangladeshi rock musician Mahfuz Anam James and his band, Nagar Baul.
According to the complaint, James and his team were paid €35,000 in cash for scheduled concerts in Rome and Venice.
The organiser alleged that James performed at the Rome concert but did not appear at the Venice event, which was instead held under another organisation.
The complaint was filed with Italian authorities on Friday.
However, it is a police complaint and does not mean that a court case has been filed or that the allegations have been proven.
Italian authorities may investigate the matter before deciding on further legal action.
The complaint comes amid a separate controversy over allegations concerning the condition of hotel rooms used by James and his team in Rome.
James’s manager has denied the hotel-related allegations.
