Abhishek Pathak’s crime thriller Drishyam 3, starring Ajay Devgn, has crossed the Rs 300-crore mark in net domestic box office collections within 10 days of its release, becoming the actor’s biggest hit as a lead performer.
The film has collected Rs 309 crore net and Rs 370.80 crore gross in India, while its worldwide gross has reached Rs 479.80 crore, according to box office tracker Sacnilk.
On its second Sunday, the film earned Rs 22.50 crore from 14,872 screens, down more than 15 per cent from Saturday’s Rs 26.50 crore. However, Sunday’s collection was more than 90 per cent higher than the Rs 14.50 crore it earned on its second Friday.
The film collected Rs 63.50 crore during its second weekend, taking its total net domestic earnings to Rs 309 crore.
Drishyam 3 opened strongly, earning Rs 61 crore on its first day, which coincided with the Gandhi Jayanti national holiday. It collected Rs 53.50 crore on Saturday and Rs 62 crore on Sunday, taking its opening-weekend total to Rs 176.50 crore.
The film continued its run with Rs 21 crore on its first Monday, followed by Rs 19.50 crore on Tuesday, Rs 15.50 crore on Wednesday and Rs 13 crore on Thursday. Its first-week domestic net collection stood at Rs 245.50 crore.
The sequel has also surpassed the domestic lifetime earnings of Devgn’s period action film Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, which collected Rs 279.59 crore net in India. Its worldwide gross of Rs 479.80 crore has also exceeded Tanhaji‘s reported lifetime global earnings of Rs 361 crore.
After adding Rs 6 crore on its second Sunday, the film’s overseas gross collection reached Rs 109 crore.
With its worldwide earnings approaching Rs 500 crore, Drishyam 3 has strengthened its position among Devgn’s biggest commercial successes.
However, his highest-grossing film overall remains SS Rajamouli’s RRR, in which he appeared in an extended guest role. The 2022 Telugu film, starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan, earned a reported Rs 1,230 crore worldwide.
