Rock icon Jon Bon Jovi abruptly ended his Madison Square Garden concert in New York on Thursday after falling ill with a sinus infection, apologizing to fans for cutting the performance short.
The show, part of Bon Jovi’s nine-date Madison Square Garden residency, ended after about 90 minutes.
Addressing the audience, the 64-year-old singer said he was “hurt” and unable to give his best performance.
He asked fans to keep their ticket stubs, promising the band would find a way to make up for the shortened show.
A representative later confirmed that Bon Jovi was battling a sinus infection.
The concert marked the eighth show of the band’s residency and comes during its comeback tour following the singer’s recovery from vocal cord surgery.
Despite the setback, Bon Jovi is still scheduled to perform the final Madison Square Garden show of the residency on July 26, pending his recovery.
