Three more children died with measles-like symptoms across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, while 1,218 children were reported with measles or symptoms of the disease during the same period.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the figures in its regular measles report released on Friday (August 7).
According to the DGHS, although three children died with measles-like symptoms in the past 24 hours, no new deaths confirmed to have been caused by measles were reported.
From March 15 through Thursday, a total of 860 people have died from measles and related symptoms across the country. Of them, 764 deaths were among people with measles-like symptoms, while 96 were confirmed measles deaths.
During the past 24 hours, 85 new measles cases were confirmed, while another 733 people developed symptoms of the disease.
Since March 15, a total of 133,638 people have developed measles-like symptoms across the country, while 16,740 confirmed measles cases have been recorded during the period.
