Four more children have died from measles-like symptoms in the 24 hours to 8:00am on Sunday, raising the overall death toll from the ongoing measles outbreak to 967.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) classified all four latest deaths as suspected measles fatalities.
With the latest figures, the number of suspected measles deaths has risen to 868, while the number of confirmed deaths remains unchanged at 99, as no new confirmed measles deaths were reported during the period.
Barisal division recorded the highest number of the latest suspected deaths, with two fatalities. At the district level, one death each was reported in Barisal, Pirojpur, Dhaka and Sylhet.
A total of 1,151 suspected measles cases were recorded in the 24 hours to Sunday morning, taking the overall number of suspected cases to 156,829.
During the same period, 365 new confirmed cases were reported, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 19,218.
Since March 15, 2026, a total of 137,347 suspected measles patients have been hospitalised across the country, according to the DGHS. Of them, 132,292 have recovered and been discharged.
