Six more people have died of dengue in Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, raising this year’s death toll to 201, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
During the same period, 1,868 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country.
The figures were released in the DGHS Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room’s daily dengue report on Wednesday.
Of the new patients, 178 were admitted in Barishal Division, 317 in Chattogram, 405 outside Dhaka city corporations, 173 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 179 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 280 in Khulna, 113 in Mymensingh, 156 in Rajshahi, 59 in Rangpur and eight in Sylhet.
As of September 23, a total of 67,367 dengue patients had been hospitalised across the country this year. Of them, 62,117 have recovered and been discharged, while 1,557 are currently receiving treatment in hospitals.
In 2025, Bangladesh recorded 102,861 dengue cases and 413 deaths. In 2024, the country reported 101,214 cases and 575 deaths. In 2023, 321,179 people were hospitalised with dengue and 1,705 died from the disease.
