Three more people died with measles-like symptoms across Bangladesh in the 24 hours to Friday morning, although no death from confirmed measles was reported during the period.
The deaths occurred between 8am Thursday and 8am Friday, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
During the same period, 1,265 people were reported to have measles or measles-like symptoms. Of them, 1,201 were suspected measles cases and 64 were confirmed cases.
Since March 15, a total of 1,084 children have died from measles or measles-like symptoms, the DGHS said. Of them, 983 died with measles-like symptoms, while 101 died after being diagnosed with measles.
A total of 164,248 suspected measles patients have been admitted to hospitals since March 15. Of them, 157,807 have recovered and been discharged, according to the health authorities.
The DGHS said 185,833 people have developed measles-like symptoms since March 15, while measles has been confirmed in 21,015 cases during the period.
