Bangladesh recorded one more dengue-related death and 473 new infections in the past 24 hours, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
In a press release issued on Sunday, the DGHS said the latest fatality was reported during the 24-hour period ending at 8:00 am.
Among the newly reported cases, 84 were detected in Dhaka Division outside the city corporations, 75 in Barishal Division, 66 in Khulna Division, 63 in Chattogram Division, 44 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 42 in Rangpur Division, 37 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 36 in Mymensingh Division, 23 in Rajshahi Division, and three in Sylhet Division.
With the latest death, the country’s dengue death toll has risen to 34 so far this year.
The DGHS said a total of 10,485 dengue patients have been hospitalised nationwide since the beginning of the year. Of them, 1,011 are currently receiving treatment in hospitals, while 9,440 have recovered and been discharged.
