Popular Bangladeshi television actress Tanjin Tisha appeared before a Dhaka court on Thursday in a case filed against her over alleged fraud and breach of trust and was granted bail after a hearing.

The hearing began at 11:25am before Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Jewel Rana. After hearing arguments from both sides, the court granted her bail.

Earlier, after reviewing the investigation report, the same court issued a summons against Tisha on July 12, directing her to appear before the court on August 13.

According to the case statement, Tisha allegedly took a saree worth Tk 28,800 from online fashion page “Aponia.” The complainant claimed that the actress had agreed to promote the saree and pay its price but later stopped communicating with them.

The case was filed accusing her of fraud and breach of trust for allegedly failing to pay for the saree and promote it as promised.

Following the allegations, Tisha said in a social media statement that the saree had been given to her as a gift and therefore there was no question of paying for it.

The complainant alleged that Tisha was served a legal notice over the matter but did not respond. The case was subsequently filed in court in November 2025.

On the court’s instructions, the Detective Branch (DB) of police investigated the case. In its report, the DB said it had found preliminary evidence supporting the allegations.

After reviewing the report, the court issued the summons on July 12. Tisha appeared in court on Thursday in compliance with the summons and sought bail.
