RAB seizes 104 weapons, arrests 60 in July

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) seized 104 firearms and arrested 60 people during anti-crime operations across Bangladesh in July, the force said on Thursday.

RAB Legal and Media Wing Director Wing Commander M. Z. M. Intekhab Chowdhury disclosed the information at a press conference at the RAB Media Centre in Karwan Bazar, Dhaka, at around 11:30am.

Of the weapons recovered, 65 were locally made firearms and 39 were foreign-made weapons, he said.

Intekhab said RAB would continue to strengthen its operations to uphold the rule of law, protect human rights, ensure public safety, prevent and identify crimes, and bring offenders to justice.

“RAB will remain committed to serving the people and standing beside them. We seek everyone’s cooperation in this effort,” he said.
