Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has ordered law enforcement agencies to quickly bring extortionists, identified criminals and drug dealers to justice, warning that action will be taken against law enforcers who fail to do so.
The minister made the remarks while visiting Dr Md Asadur Rahman, head of the ENT department at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, who was injured in an attack by criminals.
He said instructions had been issued to bring extortionists, identified criminals and drug dealers under the law in Dhaka and all metropolitan areas across the country.
“If they cannot be brought under the law soon, action will be taken against members of the law enforcement agencies,” he warned.
The home minister said no specific deadline had been set, but the accused must be dealt with promptly.
