Four warehouses owned by Sheikh Nur Islam, the father-in-law of content creator Salman Muqtadir, have been sealed following allegations that duty-free alcohol was being stored at unauthorised facilities in Dhaka’s Gulshan.

The warehouses of Tos Bond Private Limited in South Gulshan were sealed during a joint raid late Thursday night, according to a statement from the National Board of Revenue (NBR).

The raid was conducted by the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate, the Department of Narcotics Control and the Special Response Battalion.

The NBR said the company had approval for two warehouses, but inspectors found goods stored across four warehouses.

Authorities said they initially found “serious discrepancies” and sealed all four facilities for further verification and investigation.

Tos Bond is a diplomatic bonded warehouse that supplies duty-free alcohol to foreign diplomats.

Customs officials said allegations that duty-free products were being sold on the open market had prompted an investigation that had been underway for several months.

Authorities said the warehouses were sealed to prevent the removal or transfer of bonded goods from unauthorised locations and to ensure a proper investigation.

According to sources, Nur Islam, his wife Sheila Islam and their daughter Tasnim Islam are listed as directors of the bonded warehouse in intelligence documents.

Investigating agencies have also been examining financial and corporate information concerning Nur Islam and his family in Canada.
