Raids launched in Mirpur-Pallabi to curb crime

Law enforcement agencies have launched extensive raids in Dhaka’s Mirpur and Pallabi areas to prevent sabotage, disorder and criminal activities.

The raids were conducted late Wednesday night (October 14) following confidential intelligence reports. Officers searched several houses, including the residence of Ashik, an alleged gang leader and criminal in Pallabi.

The drive aimed to ensure public safety and crack down on illegal occupation of businesses and extortion, according to police.

During the operation, officers reportedly recovered Tk1.8 lakh in cash and various gold ornaments, including nose rings, from several houses. Several people were also detained.
