Acting Speaker joins prayers for July Uprising martyrs

Acting Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Barrister Kaisar Kamal, MP, on Thursday joined a prayer and milad ceremony held at the Parliament Mosque in memory of the martyrs of the July Uprising 2024 and for the speedy recovery of those injured in the movement.

The programme, organised by the Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat after Zuhr prayers, began with the recitation of the Holy Quran.

Special prayers were offered seeking eternal peace for the souls of the July Uprising martyrs, as well as for martyred President Ziaur Rahman, former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, the nation’s freedom fighters, and those who sacrificed their lives in various democratic movements in Bangladesh.

The congregation also prayed for the continued well-being of the President, the Prime Minister, the Acting Speaker, members of the Cabinet, the Chief Whip, Whips, Members of Parliament, and for the peace, prosperity and overall progress of the country.

Prayers were further offered for the success of parliamentary activities and for peace, unity and prosperity across the Muslim Ummah.

The dua and munajat were led by Md Abu Raihan, Senior Imam of the Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat Mosque.

Among those attending the programme were Whip Md Akhtaruzzaman Mia, Secretary of the Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat Barrister Md Golam Sarwar Bhuiyan, officials and employees of the Parliament Secretariat, and other distinguished guests.
