Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) has intensified its cleanliness activities across the city as part of efforts to maintain a clean environment and improve the overall appearance of the metropolis.
Under the direction of RCC Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton, regular cleaning operations are being conducted at various locations across the city.
As part of the initiative, RCC carried out a special cleanliness drive on Tuesday along the stretch from Octroi Mor, beside the RUET wall, to the city flyover.
During the drive, weeds were removed from footpaths, while mud and accumulated waste were cleared from roads. Soil and debris blocking drain openings were also removed to ensure the smooth flow of water through the drainage network.
Officials said the initiative is aimed at keeping roads and footpaths clean, improving the city’s appearance and ensuring easier movement for residents.
RCC officials said similar special cleaning drives will continue across the metropolis as part of ongoing efforts to make Rajshahi cleaner, more attractive and livable.
RCC Deputy Chief Conservancy Officer Selim Reza Ranju, Monitoring Officer (Mosquito) and conservancy supervisors were present during the drive.
