The Kalema Tayyeba has been inscribed on the wall directly behind the Speaker’s chair in the Jatiya Sangsad on the advice of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) said.

The party disclosed the information in a Facebook post on Tuesday (August 18).

According to the post, Arabic calligraphy bearing the phrase “La ilaha illallahu Muhammadur Rasulullah” was inscribed on the wall behind the Speaker’s chair on the advice of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman ahead of the opening of the 13th session of parliament on March 12, 2026.

The BNP post also said that, under the prime minister’s directive, the principle “Faith and trust in Almighty Allah” has been engraved and added to the entrances to the Jatiya Sangsad.
