Maldives President greets Mirza Fakhrul

Maldivian President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has congratulated Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on his election as the President of Bangladesh.

In a congratulatory message, President Muizzu, on behalf of the government and people of the Maldives, said Bangladesh’s first contested presidential election in 35 years marked a significant milestone in the country’s democratic journey and reflected the deep trust placed in the new president.

The Maldivian president highlighted the strong historical ties between Bangladesh and the Maldives and their shared commitment to regional stability and development. He expressed confidence that bilateral cooperation would continue to deepen and expand under Mirza Fakhrul’s leadership.

Muizzu also conveyed his best wishes for Bangladesh’s continued peace, progress and prosperity during the new president’s tenure.
