Dhaka-Ashulia Expressway: two service bridges open

Two two-lane service bridges of the Dhaka-Ashulia Elevated Expressway have been opened to traffic, a move expected to ease congestion and reduce travel time along the busy route.

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Sheikh Rabiul Alam inaugurated the bridges at Dhour Bridge around 10:30am on Wednesday (September 2) and later inspected the site.

The minister said commuters travelling between Dhaka and Ashulia had long faced severe traffic congestion and that the opening of the bridges would significantly reduce their difficulties.

He said the project faced several challenges during implementation, but the opening of the bridges would bring relief to residents and commuters in the area.

Traffic began using the two-lane service bridges from Dhour Road towards Ashulia immediately after the inauguration.
