Four people, including alleged teen gang leader Srabon alias “Kutta Srabon”, have been arrested in Rupganj, Narayanganj, on allegations of involvement in extortion, mugging and other criminal activities.
The arrests were made by the Special Response Battalion (SRB-11), which also recovered several locally made weapons from their possession.
SRB-11 Commander Lt Col Mohammad Masud Parvez confirmed the arrests on Wednesday.
He said Srabon had allegedly been operating a teen gang in Rupganj and nearby areas for a long time and was involved in extortion, mugging and other criminal activities.
He was also accused of creating fear among local residents through such activities, the commander said.
Three of Srabon’s associates were also arrested during the operation, he added.
Legal proceedings against the arrested individuals are underway, according to SRB-11.
