Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 492 people in the capital during its regular anti-crime operations over the past 24 hours.
Twenty-nine cases were also filed during the drive, DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) Md Akter Hossain confirmed on Tuesday (September 29).
Of the arrested, 26 were detained by the Ramna Division, 45 by Lalbagh, 69 by Wari, 61 by Motijheel, 105 by Tejgaon, 106 by Mirpur, 42 by Gulshan and 35 by Uttara divisions. The Detective Branch arrested two people, while the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit arrested one.
Police also recovered 4kg of cannabis, 4,533 yaba tablets, 75 bottles of phensedyl, 11 mobile phones and rescued one victim during the operations.
The arrests and recoveries were made during raids in different police station areas across the capital.
Legal proceedings against the arrested individuals are underway.
