DHAKA: The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast rain and thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally winds in Cumilla and Sylhet by 1 p.m. on Friday.
According to a forecast issued by the department’s Storm Warning Centre at 5 a.m. on October 2, winds from the west or northwest could reach speeds of 40–60 kilometers per hour in the two regions, along with rain or thundershowers.
In view of the possibility of stormy weather, river ports in the affected areas have been advised to display Cautionary Signal No. 1. The forecast was issued for the country’s inland river ports.
