The Bandarban district administration has extended the closure of all tourist destinations until July 12 due to continuous heavy rainfall, heightened landslide risks, and deteriorating road conditions.

The decision was announced in an urgent public notice issued on Tuesday by the district administration’s tourism cell. Earlier, authorities had declared the closure of all tourist spots until Friday.

According to the notice, persistent downpours have made communication networks across the hill district increasingly hazardous, while the risk of landslides has significantly increased.

Considering the prevailing situation and potential dangers, the administration has taken the measure to ensure the safety of tourists and residents.

Under the revised directive, all tourist centres, waterfalls, hill trails, river routes, remote locations and other high-risk areas in the district will remain off-limits to visitors and the public until Sunday, July 12.

The administration has urged all concerned to exercise caution and strictly comply with the direction to avoid any untoward incidents.

The notice was issued with the approval of Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Md Sadiul Ferdous.
