Bangladesh Police have recovered and handed over a missing laptop to German tourist Krill Lander-Weber.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md Ali Hossain Fakir formally handed over the laptop at Police Headquarters on Tuesday morning in the presence of senior police officials, including additional IGPs.

Police said Krill arrived in Bangladesh on September 23 to visit historical and tourist attractions. While waiting at Natore Railway Station to travel to India through the Darshana border, he left his laptop and camera in the station waiting room and went to a nearby ATM booth to withdraw money.

Upon returning, he found the items missing and sought police assistance at Natore Police Station.

The missing laptop contained important documents and records of his activities over the previous six months. Following his written complaint, several teams from Natore Sadar Police Station, Natore District Police, Railway Police and Tourist Police launched a coordinated recovery operation.

The MacBook was recovered from Noor Clothing Store in the Kapuriapatti area of Natore Sadar around 9:30pm on Sunday.

Krill expressed his gratitude to Bangladesh Police and shared his positive experiences of travelling in the country.

In recognition of the swift resolution of the foreign tourist’s complaint and the successful recovery of the laptop, the IGP awarded financial rewards to Natore Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Monsur Rahman and Sub-Inspector Mohammad Shahadat Hossain.
