BNP Acting Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has said improving the country’s healthcare system and taking medical services to the doorsteps of ordinary people are among the party’s key priorities in the current circumstances.

He made the remarks while inaugurating a free medical camp at the ground floor of the BNP central office in Nayapaltan, Dhaka, on Tuesday.

The BNP organised the day-long programme as part of its celebrations marking the party’s 48th founding anniversary.

Rizvi said the BNP had always stood by the people in both good times and difficult periods and would continue to do so in the future.

“BNP leaders and activists have always been at the forefront during times of crisis and in activities aimed at public welfare,” he said.

He said the free medical camp was part of the party’s continuing social and humanitarian commitment to the people.

The programme provided free medical consultations and necessary medicines to underprivileged and disadvantaged people.

BNP Health Affairs Secretary Prof Dr Md Rafiqul Islam, Joint Health Affairs Secretary Dr Parvez Reza Kakon, Doctors Association of Bangladesh (DAB) President Prof Dr Harun Al Rashid, Secretary General Dr Zahirul Islam Shakil and Jubo Dal Vice-President Dr Zahedul Kabir Zahid, among others, attended the programme.
