Three leaders of Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) at Rajshahi University have been expelled and six others have been served show-cause notices over an attack on journalists on the campus.
The expelled leaders are RU unit Vice-President Ahsan Habib, Joint General Secretary Hasib Hasan and student leader Bishal Chakraborty.
Ahsan and Hasib were removed from their organisational posts, while Bishal was expelled from the organisation’s primary membership.
The six leaders served notices are Vice-Presidents Takbir Ahmed Emon, Bulbul Rahman, Shariful Islam and Faruk Hossain, Joint Office Secretary Shahriar Alam and student activist Saju.
The JCD central leadership said the measures were taken for violating organisational discipline.
The six leaders have been asked to appear at the organisation’s central office within 48 hours and submit written explanations.
