A gold-coated statue depicting US President Donald Trump naked has gone on display at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, France.
Titled The Orange Plague, the 2.5-metre satirical sculpture was created by Danish artist Jens Galschiøt.
It shows Trump sitting on the shoulders of a smaller man while holding a long golf club. The statue is coated with 23-karat gold and is also known as King of Injustice.
The sculpture was displayed at the initiative of Danish left-wing European Parliament member Per Clausen.
Galschiøt said the artwork is intended to criticise what he sees as Trump’s impact on climate policy, global security and the rule-based international order.
The work is inspired partly by Hans Christian Andersen’s The Emperor’s New Clothes. A message on the sculpture’s base depicts Trump as a powerful figure weighing down the smaller man beneath him.
The statue will remain on display at the European Parliament in Strasbourg during this week’s plenary session before moving on to other events.
It has previously been exhibited at the COP30 climate summit in Brazil and is expected to be shown at the COP31 climate conference in Turkey in November.
Trump has not publicly commented on the sculpture.
