NEW DELHI, October 10: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal was detained by Delhi Police on Saturday amid protests in the Indian capital over electoral roll revisions.
AAP leaders Sanjay Singh, Saurabh Bharadwaj and Durgesh Pathak were also detained, according to Indian media reports.
The protests called for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in voter list revisions.
Opposition leaders joined the demonstrations, while authorities tightened security across central Delhi to prevent unrest.
Police detained several opposition leaders and protesters as tensions mounted over the controversial electoral roll revision process.
