New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday said the Opposition’s campaign would target Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah after seeking the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

“There are no parallel protests. There is one protest—to remove Gyanesh Kumar, and then the Prime Minister, Amit Shah. We are not going to stop,” Gandhi said at a press conference ahead of a planned Opposition march to the Supreme Court.

Gandhi demanded Kumar’s resignation, alleging that the chief election commissioner was acting under pressure from Modi, Shah and National Security Adviser Ajit Doval.

The Congress leader said the protests against Kumar were part of a broader campaign over alleged irregularities in the electoral process.

The Opposition is also demanding a halt to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

The INDIA bloc planned to march to the Supreme Court on Monday to submit a memorandum to the Chief Justice of India, seeking action over the alleged electoral irregularities and Kumar’s resignation.

The Election Commission has denied allegations of electoral wrongdoing, while the Opposition has vowed to continue its campaign.

Gandhi said the movement would continue until its demands were addressed.
