The National Citizen Party (NCP) is set to restructure its central committee, introducing changes to several key leadership positions and reducing the committee to 151 members, according to party sources.
The party’s first council is scheduled for February 28, 2027, when its organisational restructuring is expected to move forward.
The party’s Political Council, its highest policymaking body, has decided to abolish four positions, including spokesperson, chief coordinator and chief organisers for the northern and southern regions.
Under the proposed arrangement, Nasiruddin Patwary and Hasnat Abdullah are expected to become senior joint conveners, while Sarjis Alam and Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan are likely to take up the roles of senior joint member secretaries.
The positions of convener and member secretary will remain unchanged, according to party sources.
The restructuring aims to revise the party’s organisational structure and redistribute responsibilities among its senior leaders.
The party had earlier finalised the restructuring and allocation of responsibilities, with an announcement expected on October 13.
