The grand final of the Pillow Chips Dhaka Interschool Champions League (DICL), featuring 36 school teams since its launch on July 31, has been scheduled by Sportemajica and Fortis FC.
The final will be held next Monday at the Fortis Football Academy, with Bangladesh International Tutorial (BIT) taking on Navy College Dhaka for the trophy.
The tournament was jointly organised by Sportemajica and Fortis FC to encourage young players, develop grassroots football and create greater opportunities for emerging footballers in Bangladesh.
Adding an international touch to the event, Argentine football legend Claudio Caniggia, who played alongside Diego Maradona in the 1990 FIFA World Cup final, will attend as the guest of honour.
His visit will be a goodwill, non-commercial appearance.
During his visit to Fortis, Caniggia will tour the academy, assess its facilities for developing young footballers and discuss potential opportunities for future collaboration.
