The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is launching a new initiative to strengthen the pipeline for the national team by organising a three-team one-day tournament featuring the Bangladesh Under-17, Under-19 and Under-23 sides.

The tournament will begin on August 28 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur and conclude with the final on September 9.

The main objective of the competition is to provide regular, competitive match practice to cricketers aspiring to progress to the national team. With players from three different age groups competing in the same tournament, the younger cricketers will also get an opportunity to test their skills against players at the next level.

The opening match will see Bangladesh Under-17 take on Bangladesh Under-19 on August 28. The Under-19 and Under-23 teams will face each other after a one-day break.

The 50-over tournament will follow a double round-robin format, with each team playing the other two teams twice. As a result, each side will play four matches in the league stage.

The top two teams in the points table at the end of the league stage will qualify for the final.

All matches, including the opening game and the final, will start at 9:30am and will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.

The tournament will run from August 28 to September 9.
