Bangladesh pacer Hasan Mahmud is enjoying an impressive spell with the ball in the County Championship, taking four wickets for Kent against Worcestershire.

His superb bowling helped Kent restrict Worcestershire to 217 in their first innings and secure a lead.

Hasan struck twice on the opening day at St Lawrence Ground. He first shattered Jack Libby’s stumps with a delivery that followed immediately after, before trapping Rehan Edvalath lbw, putting Worcestershire’s batting lineup under pressure.

The Bangladesh pacer continued his impressive performance on the second day, bowling Matthew Waite with a delivery outside off stump. Waite scored 15 off 29 balls.

Hasan then dismissed Worcestershire’s final batter, Adam Finch, lbw to complete his four-wicket haul. He finished with 4-68, making him Kent’s leading bowler. Matt Milnes took three wickets, while Keith Dudgeon claimed two.

Worcestershire were bowled out for 217, with Daniel Leathem top-scoring with 59 and Adam Hose contributing 50. No other batter managed to reach 20.

Kent had earlier been dismissed for 238 in their first innings, giving them a 21-run lead.

Batting again in their second innings, Kent reached 197 for three at the close of the second day, extending their overall lead to 218 runs.
