Bangladesh Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman left Dhaka for Japan on Wednesday on a four-day official visit to attend the opening ceremony of the 20th Asian Games.
In his capacity as president of the Bangladesh Olympic Association, General Waker-Uz-Zaman will attend the opening ceremony of the Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
During his visit, he is also scheduled to attend several sporting events and hold bilateral meetings with senior officials of the Asian Games and Olympic associations.
The visit is expected to provide an opportunity to discuss sporting cooperation and strengthen ties between Bangladesh and international and regional sports bodies.
