Bayern Munich forward Harry Kane has become the fastest player to score 100 Bundesliga goals, reaching the milestone in his 98th appearance.

Kane scored a 39th-minute penalty in Bayern’s 7-0 win over Union Berlin on Friday to break Dieter Müller’s 49-year-old record. Müller had needed 129 games to reach 100 goals for Cologne in 1977.

“I’m really proud to have scored 100 goals in the Bundesliga,” Kane said. “I can only thank the whole team.”

Kane added his 101st league goal in the second half, while Michael Olise scored a hat-trick.

The 33-year-old joined Bayern from Tottenham in 2023 and has finished as the Bundesliga’s top scorer in all three seasons, scoring 36, 26 and 35 goals respectively.

He has now scored 151 goals in 154 appearances for Bayern in all competitions. Kane is also England’s all-time leading scorer with 70 international goals.

His latest milestone comes as he is considered among the leading contenders for the Ballon d’Or, which will be announced on October 26.
