Dhaka: Chattogram will host both semi-finals and the final of next year’s ICC Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup, which Bangladesh and Nepal will co-host from January 21 to February 6.

Bangladesh will begin their campaign against the United Arab Emirates in Sylhet on the opening day, according to the full schedule released by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday.

The two semi-finals will be played in Chattogram on February 4, with the final scheduled for February 6. Only the semi-finals and the final will have reserve days.

The tournament will be held at four venues, two in each country. Sylhet and Chattogram will host 12 matches each, while Mulpani will stage eight and Kirtipur seven. The two venues in Nepal will host group-stage matches and some Super Six fixtures.

Eight teams will begin their campaigns on the opening day, with two matches each scheduled in Sylhet and Mulpani. Matches will start at 9:30am and 1:30pm local time.

Bangladesh have been drawn in Group C alongside Australia, the UAE and Nigeria. They will play all three group-stage matches in Sylhet, facing the UAE on January 21, Australia on January 23 and Nigeria on January 25.

Two-time champions India are in Group A with Ireland, hosts Nepal and the West Indies. Group B comprises Pakistan, New Zealand, Samoa and South Africa, while the United States, Scotland, England and Sri Lanka will compete in Group D.

The group stage will conclude on January 26, after which the top three teams from each group will advance to the Super Six stage.

The six qualifiers from Groups A and D will form one Super Six group, while the qualifiers from Groups B and C will make up the other. Each team will play two matches in the Super Six, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semi-finals.

India won the inaugural edition in South Africa in 2023, defeating England in the final. They retained the title in Malaysia in 2025 by beating South Africa.

Bangladesh reached the Super Six stage in both previous editions but have yet to qualify for a semi-final. Playing at home in the next tournament will give the young side another opportunity to make history in the competition.
